Keith Bateson

Keith Bateson Piano & Organ Teacher BoltonKeith’s background in both music teaching, radio production and recording spans nearly 50 years.

Playing piano and organ from an early age, he later joined the BBC in London. Here, he produced radio shows involving The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and The Kinks to name but a few.

Keith was also involved with a collection of radio productions that would later develop into what is now known as “Radio 1”.

As well as teaching, Keith plays Organ at Bank Street Chapel, and is Director of Music at our new music school.

 
Michael Bateson

Michael Bateson

Like his father, Michael started studying music at a very early age, and at the age of nine, obtained a Choristership at Manchester Cathedral, along side a place at the prestigious Chetham's School of Music in Manchester.

Since then, Michael has used his classical training to good effect with many successful bands and artists. Teaching Piano, Guitar, Vocals, and Theory, Michael follows in his father's footsteps in his first permanent teaching role in the school.

 
Liz Clayton

Liz ClaytonLiz has been playing the flute for over 40 years. She studied with Janet West at Bolton School of Music gaining her theory and performance Associated Board examinations.

Liz has taught woodwind and theory at Bolton School of Music and privately ever since for over 10 years. She is currently studying for a Music Diploma with the Open University and is also completing a Music Educator Diploma at Manchester Music Base, where she also provides music theory lessons to vocal artists.

Liz worked as a Learning & Development Manager for a large utility company until recently but now combines her role as a pre-school music teacher with teaching flute and music theory to children and adults.

She is also a member of four bands and performs in their concerts on a regular basis, Smithills Community Wind Band, Smithills Community Big Band, Ringley Band and Worsley Band.
